The actress must really have impressed as she converted that single episode into starring in the next major hit television series, Firefly. Summer Glau played River Tam without difficulty. Glau was an excellent actress. The character Tam was forced to participate in government experiments in which she was trained to be an assassin. In the end, the capacity of Tam to manage her emotions was taken away from her. Glau got the chance to show off not only her acting talents, but her skills as a combat ace on Firefly. Glau's fighting skills were enhanced by her training to be an"Assassin. Summer Glau was classically-trained as dancer. Her dancing prowess also includes studies in tango and flamenco however it was her broken toe which ended her dance career. Firefly was only on for only one season but the show gained an avid audience. Whedon was so in love with the show that he decided to return to the show just a couple of years afterwards. Summer Glau was still getting high-quality work throughout the interim. She appeared on shows such like Cold Case and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
